RYANAIR NEWS

A barcelona court has told ryanair that they cannot make passengers print out their own boarding passes and then charge them 40 euros if they fail to do so.

The court ruled that ryanair are responsible for the printing out of airline tickets and the judge said the pactice was "abusive and unacceptable" practice.


SMOKING NEWS

Smoking is banned in restaurants, bars and public spaces as from the 2nd january 2011. The director general of public health Ildefonso Hernandez Aguado said that more inspectors and being recruited as we speak to inforce the new anti-smoking laws to issue fines promptly.The spanish government have said that "no other country has suffered economic loses after applying laws like this".The sales of electronic cigarettes in spain are reported to have soared. Bars and restaurants across the country are reportingof an increasing number of customers who have stepped outside to smoke and then disappeared to leave unpaid bills.


 

MALAGA AIRPORT NEWS

In 2010 more than 12 million people used the airport up by 3.8 percent on the previous year. This is the first increase in passengers numbers since the 2007 economic crisis started. Flight numbers were up by 2 percent on the previous year. Passengers numbers totalled 9.44 million with 4.3 million from the UK 1.1 million from germany and 587,000 from ireland. Ryanair flew more flights to malaga than any other airline easyjet being the second. AENA reported that malaga airport received more clients from gatwick airport than any british airport.

SIERRA NEVADA SKI RESORT NEWS

The sky resort opened on the 27th november 2010 with all sky runs being open. Sierra nevada has been awarded 10 million euros for inproving facilities.2011 will see the opening of the sulayr super park in the loma de dilar area for snowboarding and freestyle fans. Super G competitions are held on the Univeriade track this season.

MALAGA AIRPORT NEW RUNWAY

The new second runway which is currently under construction at Malaga Airport was scheduled to start operating this year but will now open slightly later than planned at the beginning of 2012.
Construction of the new runway is now 80% complete, but will not come into operation until next year because of all the quality and safety checks and controls which must be made.
The new Terminal 3 which was opened last March has doubled the airport’s capacity with facilities which capable of handling passenger volumes of 30 million a year. More than 9.5 million passengers have passed through T3 since it opened, on more than 80,000 flights.
